Work-Life Balance is a LIE

Imperfect Imbalance:

A Different Approach to Work-Life Balance

For ambitious women navigating motherhood, marriage, business, leadership, burnout, and the beautiful imperfection of real life.

Because balance was never the assignment.

For years, women have been told that work-life balance is the ultimate goal.

Build the career.
Raise the family.
Maintain the marriage.
Take care of your health.
Pursue your dreams.
Stay present.
Stay productive.
Stay grateful.

And somehow do it all at the same time.

The problem is that life rarely happens in equal portions.

A working mother navigating deadlines, school pickups, family responsibilities, and personal goals isn't struggling because she lacks discipline. She's struggling because modern life asks women to carry responsibilities that were never meant to exist in perfect balance.

At Imperfect Imbalance, we believe there is another way.

Instead of pursuing perfect balance, we embrace intentional priorities, honest conversations, meaningful relationships, and the understanding that every season of life requires something different from us.

You Don’t Need More

You don't need another productivity hack.

You don't need a color-coded planner.

And you certainly don't need one more person telling you to wake up at 4 AM.

You need permission.

Permission to stop chasing perfection.
Permission to embrace the season you're in.
Permission to build a meaningful life without carrying the weight of the world alone.

That's why Imperfect Imbalance exists.

Mom guilt.
Burnout.
Mental overload.

About Lane Taylor

Lane Taylor is an entrepreneur, mother of three, and founder of Taylored Marketing.

For years, she chased the elusive promise of work-life balance while building a business, raising a family, and trying to show up well in every role she carried. Like so many ambitious women, she discovered that the pressure to "do it all" often came at the expense of peace, presence, and authenticity.

Through her experiences in entrepreneurship, motherhood, marriage, leadership, and personal growth, Lane developed a different perspective: maybe balance was never the goal.

Imperfect Imbalance was born from the realization that balance was never the goal—and maybe the women chasing it weren't failing after all.

Today, Lane is building a community for women who are tired of pretending they have it all together and are ready to embrace a life that is messy, meaningful, and made for more.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and an ever-growing collection of unfinished to-do lists.
